garbage dump

Back

reckoning with the past

old construction debris and trash on a steep hillside by the stream

Ryota stayed the night last night, so we had a good french toast n art morning today. We are scheming and making plans for the future, and he is such a good homie/thinker/business partner, so we are super fortunate to have him in our life. It is cool the way things work out, and big shouts to Alex for bringing us together. Yokata.

We wanted to work on the sink today, and plumb up the faucets, but I realized that we are missing 1/2 inch brass nipples, so we can't attach our flex hose to our faucets, since they are both female. Shogunai, we will be heading to Joyful Ak on Sunday so can load up then on those. Instead of grinding in the sink room, we went outside, and started cleaning and tidying things up out there. Behind our property, their is a short, but steep hill to the stream, and we knew there was some garbage that had been dumped there over the years, but it wasn't till we started pulling stuff out today, that we realized how deep it actually goes. It was pretty disheartening, all the construction and other garbage that had been dumped, but we pulled a good amount out. Since it is the towns land, we are going to talk to the town and see if we can rent a mini excavator, and dig out a bit of it, but it honestly might not be worth it. We might take the permaculture approach, and get out what we can, and for the rest, just swale the hill side, and start accumulating plant matter on top of it, to slowly start burying it. I wish we could get it all out, but at the end of the day, then it just gets dumped in another hole somewhere else. Thats the shitty thing about garbage like plastic, and metal, it doesn't really break down all too quickly. It could be worse though, and we will do our best to get what we can.

This evening, was infront of the computer, and it was handling accounting work, setting up phones, researching wifi setups, and handling other business stuff. Kind of a full on day of different sorts of things, but really all in all, a good one.

Have a great day n wakaranai.
